A Thin Veneer of Gloss

Things change, the scenery of life is twirling, like a jeweled carousel lifting me away . . . . . But to where? And from whom? As many of you know, McKenzie has gone off to college and I feel like the deep sigh after beautiful remembrances that can never be remade or revisited again. Remembered, but not revisited. Kari is off soon as well, and the special "piece of Europe" that we all created is slowly becoming a thought of the past. Bitter-sweet. It's a little too familiar to me how time passes so slowly and yet surges on the great waterfall drive of what we call "will". The will to do, to think, to walk ever on even if we know not what we are dimly grasping while we search the streetlights that spark our way. I pray the thin veneer of gloss we all have to cover ourselves will be melted down by those sparks. So we will begin to "truly live" Honestly, deeply and wholly. Bless you both, Mackenzie and Kari. "May the wind always be at our backs . . . . . ."

indeed kari, i know that it's not entirely over, and the good thing is that i don't believe in "never" because so many things in life repeat themselves . . . .
